Florida high school football: Sabby Meassick of Tohopekaliga leads state passing yardage leaders

Sophomore signal caller threw for 2,460 yards and 30 touchdowns in his first six games of the season.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, sophomore Sabby Meassick of Tohopekaliga (Kissimmee) leads Florida high school football in passing yardage. See the complete list of the top 50 passers in the state below.

Meassick has thrown for 2,460 yards and helped the Tigers to a 4-2 record. He threw for 563 yards and seven touchdowns in a 49-21 victory over Foundation Academy (Winter Garden) on Sept. 9 and piled up 587 yards and six touchdowns in a 42-0 win against Celebration on Sept. 29.

Senior Haden Klees of Wakulla (Crawfordville) is second with 2,045 passing yards. He has thrown for over 200 yards in all seven games and surpassed the 300-yard mark three times while compiling 30 touchdowns for the unbeaten War Eagles.

Freshman Zac Katz of True North Classical Academy (Miami) sits just outside the top 20 with 1,568 passing yards. The young signal caller has completed 82.3 percent of his passes for the 6-0 Titans.
