Basketball Game Preview: Cristo Rey Cougar vs. Horizon Science Academy Hawks

Cristo Rey is 0-7 against Horizon Science Academy since December of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cristo Rey Cougar will host the Horizon Science Academy Hawks at 7:00 p.m.

Cristo Rey is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 84-26 loss at the hands of KIPP Columbus. The Cougar were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-14.

Defeat or not, Cristo Rey got some senior leadership from Nate Getahun and Dayshawn Stanford. Getahun went 5 of 12 on his way to 10 points and four steals, while Stanford went 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 38.5% of Cristo Rey's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Meanwhile, Horizon Science Academy slipped by Patriot Prep Academy 54-53 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Horizon Science Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

Cristo Rey took a serious blow against Horizon Science Academy when the teams last played back in February, falling 83-42. Thankfully for Cristo Rey, Khiryn Mcneal (who went 9 of 17 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and eight steals) won't be suiting up this time.
