Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Hornets vs. El Cajon Valley Braves

The Lincoln Hornets will square off against the El Cajon Valley Braves at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lincoln has four straight victories, El Cajon Valley has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lincoln came out on top against High Tech SD on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fifth inning. The Hornets put the hurt on the Storm with a sharp 20-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won ten matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, El Cajon Valley fell victim to Helix and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 18-0 to the Highlanders.

El Cajon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Lincoln took their victory against El Cajon Valley in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 28-3 score. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
