Basketball Game Preview: NFL Yet Academy Eagles vs. Tempe Buffaloes

The NFL Yet Academy Eagles will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Tempe Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

NFL Yet Academy is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since January 23rd last Monday. They were outmatched by Leading Edge Academy - GEC and fell 70-31. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Tempe entered their game against Greenway on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Tempe fell just short of Greenway by a score of 55-53.

NFL Yet Academy will need focus on slowing down Damon Broadnax, one of several Tempe players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Broadnax a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nassir Cobbs, who posted 15 points.

Tempe's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for NFL Yet Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
