Basketball Game Preview: Merritt Academy Mustangs vs. Universal Learning Academy

Merritt Academy is a perfect 5-0 against Universal Learning Academy since January of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against Universal Learning Academy at 5:30 p.m. The contest will give Merritt Academy their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Last Wednesday, Merritt Academy had to suffer through a 49-21 loss at the hands of Cardinal Mooney Catholic. The Mustangs have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Universal Learning Academy was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past WISE Academy 42-15.

Merritt Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Universal Learning Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Everything came up roses for Merritt Academy against Universal Learning Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2025, as the squad secured a 53-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
