You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Chapin's strategy against Catawba Ridge on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Copperheads out of the water with a 59-30 final score. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chapin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alaya Douglas, who shot 71% from the field on her way to 12 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Haggard, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points and five steals.

Despite the loss, Catawba Ridge still got an impressive performance from Brooke Berninzoni, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. That was a full 50% of the Copperheads' points, marking the third time in a row Berninzoni has posted more than a third of the team's points.

The win (which was Chapin's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.7 points on average over those games. As for Catawba Ridge, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-3 record.

Chapin will take on Blythewood in a holiday battle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' defense better be ready for this one: the Bengals have averaged an impressive 61.5 points per game this season. Catawba Ridge and Lexington will compete for holiday cheer at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
