Basketball Game Preview: Davis Sr. Blue Devils vs. Rocklin Thunder

The Davis Sr. Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Rocklin Thunder at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Davis Sr. saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grant. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Pacers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Rocklin's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Jesuit on Friday. Rocklin came out on top against Granite Bay by a score of 49-40. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 436th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rocklin pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Davis Sr., their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Davis Sr. came up short against Rocklin in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 87-75. Can Davis Sr. avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
