The San Rafael Bulldogs will challenge the Salesian College Preparatory Pride at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
San Rafael is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Archie Williams just ended the team's six-game winning streak last Monday. They fell 5-1 to the Peregrine Falcons. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs couldn't push the score so high this time.

Thomara Drummer spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 18 consecutive appearances.
Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Salesian College Preparatory had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 13-8.
DeAmor Coleman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits. Coleman was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gloria Alcaire, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matea Gaddies, who went 3-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Salesian College Preparatory has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for San Rafael, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. San Rafael has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 11.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Salesian College Preparatory struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.3 strikeouts.
