Jeff Davis won the last time they faced Toombs County and things went their way on Saturday too. The Jeff Davis Yellowjackets snuck past the Toombs County Bulldogs with a 55-51 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Yellowjackets.

Jeff Davis got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Latrell Sellers out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Mark Durden, who posted seven points and four steals.

Toombs County's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mike Polke, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Polke is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Cornelius Bullard was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Jeff Davis now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Toombs County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jeff Davis will head out to take on Worth County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Jeff Davis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matches. As for Toombs County, they will venture away from home to challenge Swainsboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
