Mauston lost to La Crosse Logan back in October of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Golden Eagles had just enough and edged out the Rangers 2-1.

Mauston had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-16, 15-12.

Breanna Heller paced Mauston's offense, picking up six kills. Heller got some help from Rylea Mehne and her ten assists. Dylan Walsh controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

La Crosse Logan's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaia Depaolo, who had seven kills, seven digs, and two aces. Depaolo is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alysha Hayes, who had 14 assists and four aces.

Mauston's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for La Crosse Logan, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Mauston didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against North Crawford on the 11th. As for La Crosse Logan, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Westby on the 11th.
