Basketball Recap: Brian Castro's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Contreras over Robert F. Kennedy Community

Contreras was the 48-31 winner over Robert F. Kennedy Community when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Contreras Cobras fell to the Robert F. Kennedy Community Bobcats 54-50. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Contreras' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brian Castro, who posted 17 points. Castro's afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Gutierrez, who put up 14 points.

Contreras now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Robert F. Kennedy Community, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Contreras didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-51 victory against Mendez on the 13th. As for Robert F. Kennedy Community, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 68-66 win against University on the 12th.
