Volleyball Game Preview: Cherokee Braves vs. Pisgah Bears

The Cherokee Braves will head out on the road to take on the Pisgah Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Cherokee has six straight wins, Pisgah has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Cherokee can't be too worried about heading out to take on Pisgah: they just beat Hayesville at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. The Braves walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Yellowjackets on Thursday.

Cherokee had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-23, 25-14, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Pisgah lost 3-0 to West Henderson on Thursday.

While Pisgah was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-14.

Pisgah's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Cherokee, their win bumped their record up to 19-8.

Cherokee was able to grind out a solid victory over Pisgah in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. Do the Braves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
