Preview: Crossroads Christian Colts vs. Grovetown Warriors
The Crossroads Christian Colts will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Grovetown Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Crossroads Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 795 points over their last 11 games.
Crossroads Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 21 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Lawrence Academy on Tuesday as Crossroads Christian made off with a 74-52 victory. Given Crossroads Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Lawrence Academy is ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ben Gladieux was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds. The game was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Ely Phillips was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Meanwhile, Grovetown's 20-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a hard 63-49 fall against Lexington last Saturday.
Crossroads Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.6 points per game. As for Grovetown, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
