McDonald strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They enjoyed a cozy 52-35 victory over the Memorial Red Devils. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Red Devils are ranked 239th).
McDonald had a senior duo take command as Joey Cappuzzello went 9-for-21 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and five blocks and Drew Zajack shot 56% from the field en route to 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for Zajack. Casey Miller was another key player, putting up two points along with 13 boards, eight assists, and eight steals.
McDonald's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
