Baseball Game Preview: Madison County Cowboys vs. Christ's Church Academy Eagles

The Madison County Cowboys will venture away from home to square off against the Christ's Church Academy Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Christ's Church Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Madison County, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Madison County got the win against Godby by a conclusive 16-5. Considering the Cowboys have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Eli Underhill and Kannon Plain did most of the damage at the plate: Underhill got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Plain got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Madison County is undefeated when Underhill posts one or more home runs, but 8-10 otherwise. Micah Newman was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Madison County lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Christ's Church Academy suffered their biggest defeat since February 24th on Thursday. They lost 13-3 to Ponte Vedra.

Shawn Robinson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Christ's Church Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Madison County, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Madison County skirted past Christ's Church Academy 3-1 in their previous matchup back in February. Will the Cowboys repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
