Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Oxbridge Academy

Oxbridge Academy waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came out on top against the Lake Placid Dragons by a score of 10-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-7 back in March.

Isabella LaForte was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Kaiya Glucksman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Oxbridge Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Placid only posted a batting average of .241.

Oxbridge Academy pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Lake Placid, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oxbridge Academy will venture away from home to face off against Clewiston at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.5 runs per game on average), something the ThunderWolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lake Placid, they are taking a road trip to square off against Jensen Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
