Basketball Recap: Jose Marquez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Naples

Immokalee hadn't done well against Naples recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Immokalee Indians walked away with a 75-67 win over the Naples Golden Eagles. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Golden Eagles last Tuesday, they had to take a 62-51 defeat.

Immokalee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jose Marquez, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 19 points and three steals. Marshon Jackson was another key player, going 5 of 6 on his way to 17 points and five assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Immokalee and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Naples, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.

Immokalee will face off against Golden Gate at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Immokalee knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Golden Gate likes a good challenge. As for Naples, they will head out to take on Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
