Cuba/Spoon River Valley barely beat Rushville-Industry the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 20-1 win on Monday. Considering the Wildcats have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kacie White made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, eight RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Joley McLaughlin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Abbie Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Canton was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Dunlap, falling 15-2. The Little Giants haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
Makaylynne Correa made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Cuba/Spoon River Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Canton, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.
Cuba/Spoon River Valley's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's contest. The Wildcats have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game.
