6A District 5 recap November 19, 2013

Citrus lost to Springstead 21-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Gainesville and Sunlake played the most contested game in 6A District 5 this week, with Gainesville eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Tony James ran for 123 yards in the win.

The Hurricanes' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Caelan Christian threw for 53 and 1 touchdown and Dock Luckie had 29 yards receiving. On the ground James chipped in 123 yards. Ahmad Ivey helped Gainesville's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.

Gainesville's dynamic duo of Christian and Luckie proved tough for the Seahawks to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ivey helped Gainesville's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 11 yards.

James provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mark Latsko's team beat Sunlake. James' favorite target this week was Luckie, who caught 2 passes for 29 yards.

Vanguard's Adam Robles and Natrelle Jamerson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Robles has thrown for 2,119 yards this season, while Jamerson has 66 catches for 1,171 yards. James from the Hurricanes leads the league in rushing with 1,242 yards.

Gainesville led the league in points allowed with 14.
