Basketball Recap: Northview Academy's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Northview Academy won the last time they faced Seymour and things went their way on Friday too. The Northview Academy Cougars secured a 65-60 W over the Seymour Eagles. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Eagles are ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Seymour still got an impressive performance from Hayes Golden, who posted 18 points and eight rebounds. Ayden Huskey was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and five boards.

Northview Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Seymour, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

Northview Academy will head out on the road to face off against Cocke County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northview Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 games -- so hopefully Cocke County likes a good challenge. As for Seymour, they will welcome Sequoyah at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seymour is facing Sequoyah at the right time seeing as Sequoyah is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
