Recap: Bloomfield Bobcats vs. St. Pius X Sartans
On Saturday, the Bloomfield Bobcats faced the St. Pius X Sartans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bloomfield was the victim of a rough 44-24 defeat at the hands of St. Pius X. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Bloomfield has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Bloomfield lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aliya Quintana. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. That was a full 62.5% of Bloomfield's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Bloomfield's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for St. Pius X, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 13-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomfield will take on Gallup at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Pius X, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Belen at 7:00 p.m. Belen will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Mexico Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while St. Pius X is ranked 13th).
