Volleyball Recap: Legacy Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Cimarron-Memorial

On Monday, Legacy faced Cimarron-Memorial in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Legacy Longhorns fell just short of the Cimarron-Memorial Spartans by a score of 3-2. The Longhorns were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Legacy couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Cimarron-Memorial a tough time in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-22, 30-28, 18-25, 15-6.

Legacy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Cimarron-Memorial and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Legacy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Doral Academy Red Rock on the 11th. As for Cimarron-Memorial, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Basic at 6:00 p.m. The contest will give Basic their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
