Basketball Recap: North Charleston Falls Short of Loris in the Playoffs

North Charleston and Loris squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but North Charleston had to settle for second. They took a 60-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Loris Lions.

Despite the loss, North Charleston still got an impressive performance from Marco Simpson, who posted 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Simpson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Richard Hazel III, who put up eight points and nine boards.

Khalid Sherman had an outrageously good game for Loris as he to rack up 14 points and seven assists. What's more, Sherman also posted an 86% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Jacobien Lewis was another key player, en route to 11 points.

North Charleston's loss dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Loris, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season.

North Charleston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Loris, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fox Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Fox Creek comes in on three and Loris on nine.
