San Ysidro scored the most points they've had this season on Wednesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 67-60 to the Mar Vista Mariners. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mariners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

When it comes to explaining why San Ysidro lost, don't look at Jordan Miranda. Despite the final result, he posted 19 points and five assists. Miranda continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Gael Hernandez was another key player, putting up seven points and four steals.

Mar Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Omar Krenbeh led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Krenbeh's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahaziel Catano, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards.

San Ysidro's loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Mar Vista, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
