Volleyball Recap: Lafayette County Falls Short of East Buchanan in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Lafayette County couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the East Buchanan Bulldogs on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Huskers have suffered since October 28, 2024.

Sophie Frank paced Lafayette County's offense, picking up 17 kills. Frank got some help from Katie Draisey and her 21 assists. Finally, Lillian Joyner and Claire Frank kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Among those leading the charge was Maggie Whitt, who had 12 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played.

The defeat snapped Lafayette County's winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 24-7-2 record. As for East Buchanan, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 27-10-3.
