Softball Recap: Arcata Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Arcata was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They came up short against the Fortuna Huskies, falling 16-2. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Huskies: they've now lost nine in a row.

Nallia Meyer made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. Alli Mitchell was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs.

Arcata now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Fortuna, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Arcata has already played their next game, a 16-8 defeat against McKinleyville on the 18th. As for Fortuna, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eureka at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
