Baseball Recap: Sitka Triumphs

Sitka barely beat Colony the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves never let the Knights get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Caleb Calhoun was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in June of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Calhoun wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Haskins, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That hit was Haskins' first of the season. Brett Ross was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Sitka's victory bumped their record up to 2-6-1. As for Colony, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Sitka wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-2 win against Kodiak on the 18th. As for Colony, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-7 draw against Monroe Catholic on the 18th.
