Atwater entered their tilt with Tokay on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They escaped with a win against the Tokay Tigers by the margin of a single free throw, 55-54. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Tigers are ranked 390th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Atwater to victory were Sylas Austin and Ali Banks Jr. Austin went 8 for 11 en route to 17 points and five rebounds, while Banks Jr almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Perez, who posted six points.

Atwater smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Tokay's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Habib Khan, who earned 17 points. Jason Hallstrom was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Atwater's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Tokay, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

Atwater has already played their next contest, a 57-42 victory against Bear Creek on the 8th. As for Tokay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-46 win against Wood on the 15th.
