Softball Recap: Hillsdale Starts Season with Win Against Madison Comprehensive

Hillsdale had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Madison Comprehensive Rams on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Falcons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Keira Filius spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Kennedy Fickes was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Jordyn Fickes was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillsdale will venture away from home to face off against Walsh Jesuit at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Madison Comprehensive, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Shelby at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
