San Joaquin Memorial had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Sanger West on Tuesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Hornets with a sharp 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: San Joaquin Memorial took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-11, 25-12.

San Joaquin Memorial was led to victory by Sarah Villalvazo and Taydem Gonzalez. Villalvazo had ten digs and two aces, while Gonzalez had three aces. Villalvazo is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Lauren Castro also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: San Joaquin Memorial was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last four matchups.

San Joaquin Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Sanger West, their defeat ended an eight-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-8.

San Joaquin Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Hoover on the 24th. As for Sanger West, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Arroyo Grande on the 27th.
