Northern Guilford is a perfect 3-0 against Oak Grove since November of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Nighthawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Northern Guilford is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Western Guilford: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Nighthawks blew the Hornets out of the water with a 54-12 final score. With the Nighthawks ahead 39-10 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Leena McField and Aliyah Settle were among the main playmakers for Northern Guilford as the former shot 50% from the field en route to 25 points in addition to eight boards and five assists and the latter went 7-for-12 on her way to 14 points and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which McField has scored at least a third of the Nighthawks' points. Anaya Pearley was another key player, putting up four points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Northern Guilford was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Guilford only posted one.

Meanwhile, Oak Grove strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 48-43 W against North Wilkes.

Oak Grove's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Northern Guilford, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Northern Guilford skirted past Oak Grove 58-55 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Grizzlies' Victoria Lockamy, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Nighthawks still be able to contain Lockamy? There's only one way to find out.
