Baseball Game Preview: Mount Vernon Majors vs. Lewis Lancers

The Mount Vernon Majors will head out to face off against the Lewis Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Mount Vernon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Saint John Paul the Great Catholic on Wednesday. They lost 13-2 to the Wolves.

Mount Vernon saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Grimsley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Another was Talon Camacho, who scored a run and stole two bases.

Meanwhile, Lewis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Falls Church, falling 12-1.

Lewis' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Mount Vernon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Everything went Mount Vernon's way against Lewis in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Mount Vernon made off with a 12-1 victory. Does Mount Vernon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lewis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
