Volleyball Recap: Downey's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Downey's tournament run continued when they took on Sonora on Saturday. The Knights fell 2-0 to the Wildcats. The loss put an end to the Knights' undefeated start to the season.

Zaniyah Corneille paced Downey's offense, picking up nine kills. Corneille got some help from Izzy Altadonna and her 11 assists. Corneille was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Downey fell to 2-1. As for Sonora, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Downey has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against College Park on the 23rd. As for Sonora, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Turlock on the 23rd.
