Basketball Recap: Ashland Blue Jays vs. Minneola Wildcats
After flying high against Pawnee Heights last Tuesday, Ashland came back down to earth. The Ashland Blue Jays lost to the Minneola Wildcats at home by a 44-25 margin on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Blue Jays in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.
Minneola's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Stanton Custer led the charge by putting up nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Klotz, who posted six points and five boards.
Ashland's loss dropped their record down to 5-7-1. As for Minneola, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 5-7-1.
Ashland is taking a road trip to challenge South Gray on Tuesday.
