Preview: Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds vs. Oakes Tornadoes
The Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Oakes Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. Wyndmere/Lidgerwood is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Wyndmere/Lidgerwood came up short against Richland and fell 51-42.
Oakes posted their biggest win yet this season on Saturday. They beat Maple River by the very same score they won with last week: 62-35. Given Oakes' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 62nd in North Dakota, while Maple River is ranked 217th in Minnesota), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wyndmere/Lidgerwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Oakes, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Wyndmere/Lidgerwood was able to grind out a solid win over Oakes in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 46-37. Will Wyndmere/Lidgerwood repeat their success, or does Oakes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
