Recap: Brandon Eagles vs. Freedom Patriots
The Brandon Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Freedom at home to the tune of 58-29. The victory was some much needed relief for Brandon as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Brandon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sofia Caserta, who scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caserta has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Julia Castany, who scored 18 points.
Despite the loss, Freedom still got an impressive performance from Emma Schroeder, who scored 13 points.
Brandon's win ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-10. As for Freedom, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-13.
Brandon won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sumner at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th. Sumner presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brandon in Florida (Sumner is ranked 113th, while Brandon is ranked 580th).
