Softball Game Preview: Oak Hill Oaks vs. Eastern Eagles

The Oak Hill Oaks will challenge the Eastern Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Oak Hill came up short against Glenwood on Tuesday, falling 10-3.

Oak Hill saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chelcie Fowble, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Eastern entered their tilt with Alexander on Tuesday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leah Rader made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last five matchups. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double.

In other batting news, Aubrey Quillen and Kenleigh Bapst did most of the damage at the plate: Quillen went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Bapst went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaidyn McCleese, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Oak Hill has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Eastern, their win bumped their record up to 14-2-1.
