Basketball Game Preview: St. Louis Catholic Saints vs. South Beauregard Knights

The St. Louis Catholic Saints will head out to challenge the South Beauregard Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

St. Louis Catholic fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Lake Charles College Prep on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trailblazers by a score of 51-49. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 16th).

Meanwhile, South Beauregard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 67-62 heartbreaker at the hands of Jennings. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly five points.

South Beauregard's loss dropped their record down to 17-24. As for St. Louis Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season.

St. Louis Catholic strolled past South Beauregard in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 46-31. Does St. Louis Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Beauregard turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
