Preview: New Town vs. Parkville Knights
New Town is 8-0 against Parkville since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. New Town will head out on the road to face off against the Parkville Knights at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
New Town unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Pikesville at home and fell 73-45. New Town has struggled against Pikesville recently, as their game on Wednesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Parkville had to suffer through a rough 62-27 loss at the hands of Loch Raven. While losing is never fun, Parkville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Loch Raven is ranked 72nd).
New Town's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-4. As for Parkville, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for New Town against Parkville in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 60-19 victory. With New Town ahead 38-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
