Soccer Game Preview: Chippewa Hills vs. Big Rapids

Chippewa Hills is 0-8 against Big Rapids since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Warriors will square off against the Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Chippewa Hills has given up an average of 4.6 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Chippewa Hills is headed into Monday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Tri County Area, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Chippewa Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 398th, while Tri County Area are ranked 152nd).

Meanwhile, Big Rapids entered their tilt with Gaylord on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. Their defense stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 1-0 shutout. Big Rapids' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Big Rapids' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three games. As for Chippewa Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.

Chippewa Hills suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Big Rapids in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
