Basketball Recap: Pine Valley Central Comes Up Short

Pine Valley Central lost against Ellicottville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Pine Valley Central Panthers took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ellicottville Eagles. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellicottville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dominic Polino out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Polino is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Blake Smith, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.

Pine Valley Central now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Ellicottville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Pine Valley Central Panthers face off against the Cassadaga Valley Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Ellicottville will take on Westfield in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
