Softball Recap: Navarro Takes a Loss

Navarro lost against Crockett back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Vikings lost 19-5 to the Cougars. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jenny Castillo and Mia Munguia did some serious damage despite the final result: Castillo scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Munguia scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Julia ` Chaplin also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Navarro's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Crockett, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7-1 record this season.

Navarro will square off against Anderson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.79 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crockett, they will face off against Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raptors have averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season.
