It was a good run, but Elmwood unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pekin Dragons. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Dragons when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cheyenne Burge paced Elmwood's offense, picking up six kills. Burge got some help from Payge Ryan and her 11 assists. Jade Conlee controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Elmwood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Pekin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Elmwood has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Richwoods on the 6th. As for Pekin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against East Peoria on the 6th.
