Preview: Strawberry Crest Chargers vs. Riverview Sharks

Strawberry Crest is 0-5 against Riverview since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Strawberry Crest Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Riverview Sharks at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Strawberry Crest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 34-30 to Alonso.

Strawberry Crest's loss came about despite a quality game from Devin Blunt, who rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Abe Craig got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Strawberry Crest's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Zayveon Springfield and his two sacks.

Meanwhile, Riverview unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of Sumner. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, Riverview couldn't push the score so high this time.

Strawberry Crest's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. Having lost for the first time this season, Riverview fell to 6-1.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's game: Strawberry Crest has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Riverview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 149 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.

Strawberry Crest suffered a grim 40-14 defeat to Riverview when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Strawberry Crest, Harrison Hensley (who rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 80 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
