Basketball Recap: Deposit-Hancock Comes Up Short

Deposit-Hancock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-29 bruising from the Walton Warriors. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Deposit-Hancock this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-25 back in December of 2024.

It was another big night for Grace Walley, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds for Walton. The dominant performance also gave Walley a new career-high in blocks (six). Another player making a difference was Kennedy Williams, who went 5 of 12 en route to 10 points along with six assists and three steals.

Deposit-Hancock's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Walton, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deposit-Hancock will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Greene at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Walton, they will host Harpursville at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
