Baseball Recap: Garland Comes Up Short

Garland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the Wylie Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 last Tuesday.

Garland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Wylie, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

Garland and Wylie will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Owls see the field they'll take on Wylie East at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Wylie, their break will end when they face Lakeview Centennial at 7:30 p.m. on the 15th.
