Basketball Game Preview: Hilton Head Prep Dolphins vs. Cross Stingrays

Hilton Head Prep hasn't had much luck against Cross recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hilton Head Prep Dolphins are taking a road trip to challenge the Cross Stingrays at 5:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Last Monday, Hilton Head Prep humbled Charleston Collegiate with a 58-29 victory. Given the Dolphins' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Sundevils are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cross blew past Bridges Prep, posting a 64-26 victory. The Stingrays have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Hilton Head Prep is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Cross, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9.

Hilton Head Prep suffered a grim 52-27 defeat to Cross when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can Hilton Head Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
