Football Recap: Gadsden County Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Gadsden County rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Booker T. Washington Tornadoes as they made off with a 47-27 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Gadsden County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kemarrion Battles, who rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Battles' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards. Backing up that air attack was Tristen Davis, who rushed for 111 yards and two rushing touchdowns.

Battles was just one part of a punishing run game: Gadsden County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 180 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests.

Gadsden County's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. As for Booker T. Washington, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3.

Gadsden County wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 38-27 loss against Cocoa on the 12th. Booker T. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
