Basketball Recap: Burkeville Skates Past Goodrich with Ease

Burkeville won the last time they faced Goodrich and things went their way on Friday too. The Burkeville Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Goodrich Hornets 64-30. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Goodrich's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joshua James, who posted 11 points. The dominant performance gave James a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zatavius Bowens, who put up six points.

Burkeville's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15. As for Goodrich, their defeat was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-23.

Burkeville will host Chester at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burkeville has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Goodrich, they will take on Leggett at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goodrich is facing Leggett at the right time seeing as Leggett is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
