Basketball Recap: Pottsgrove's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

After losing to Bayard Rustin the last time they met, Pottsgrove decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The stars were shining brightly for the Pottsgrove Falcons in a 63-48 victory over the Bayard Rustin Golden Knights on Friday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Golden Knights are ranked 367th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Pottsgrove and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Bayard Rustin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pottsgrove will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Pottstown at 6:45 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Bayard Rustin and Bishop Shanahan will round out the year against one another at at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
